Delhi Metro engages artists, schoolkids to give Moti Bagh station a creative touch

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is giving Moti Bagh station on the upcoming Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar corridor (Pink Line) an artistic touch.

A team of artists have been engaged to paint abstract art on the facade of the station facing the Ring Road and the adjacent flyover. The work is expected to be completed within a week.

“The selected artworks convey the message of greenery and preservation of environment. A specialised team has been roped in to execute the work. The piers of the Metro station on the Ring Road are also being decorated with traditional Indian Jali work. The Jali installations will be backlit and will also have night glow vinyl for a better aesthetic look and visibility during the night,” a DMRC spokesperson said. Students from a nearby school for girls will also decorate seven pillars of the Metro corridor near the station.

Stations on the recently inaugurated Botanical Garden-Kalkaji Mandir section were also decorated with artworks depicting culture, heritage and local landmarks. Efforts will be made to give all the corridors in the third phase an artistic touch. More info
