New Delhi: The claustrophobic feeling at Phase I and II Metro stations, like the one at Rajiv Chowk, will not be a bother in Phase III.
“The new design gives a feeling of space and allows better orientation. Movement within the station will be much more streamlined ,” said a senior DMRC official.
The biggest change is the opening up of space. At present , stations in the Delhi Metro network have defined concourse and platform areas , without a visual connect . The DMRC official said, “The new design will have what we call double height spaces—that is, from the concourse to the platform there will be a visual connect, an atrium kind of space. This gives a sense of openness that will also help orient people better at the stations.” The double height space will further streamline the moveme .. More info
